Requirement for Progress 4GL Developer

Job Role : Sr. Progress Developer
Job Description : 

• Understanding existing code, architecture and product functionality.
• Developing good understanding of the business / domain.
• Implementing a range of change requests and enhancements to the existing products.
• Performing design, development, unit testing and integration testing of your work.
• Primarily work on the front-end / GUI development with some limited work on back-end file import/export etc.
• Documenting the code changes and supporting their release to users.

Key Qualifications/Requirements:

• 5+years of IT with 3+ yrs of Progress development experience.
• Technologies :

1. Progress 4GL /  Open Edge 10 - 3+yrs.
2. Progress Database - 3+yrs.
3. Crystal Report or another reporting tool - 1+ yrs.                                             

•    3+ years of experience working with Progress 4GL and Progress database, GUI and other related technologies.
• Strong experience of Progress in Windows environment, primarily front-end development.
• Some exposure to back-end file import/export type applications.
• Exposure to Microsoft .Net will be a plus.
• Exposure to health care IT and related protocols such as HL7, HIPAA - will be a plus.
• Experience of building commercial products using Progress will be a plus.
• Experience working with US/EU based clients will be a plus.
• Ability to work with US clients by providing US time overlap.
• Experience supporting applications/products with large user base.
• Experience with formal methodologies such as Waterfall and/or Agile.
• Must have good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must have very good oral and written communications Skills.
